"They Tried to Bury Us, But They Didn't Know We Were Seeds" A very famous Mexican proverb that I absolutely fell in love with. I remember watching an interview with a first-generation Latina who said she felt like a seed who was planted in a new land. She felt like a foreign flower, the blossom of her culture and heritage. I try to live my life by these very ideals. We are all seeds from other places, planted in the United States. And when someone tries to bury us, we grow.
